What is Birch Based Xylitol?
The Xylitol sweetener is naturally occurring in the Birch tree, so is sourced naturally from its wood. Xylitol is a naturally occurring sweetener found in many fruits and vegetables, as well as other plants. Xylitol does not have a negative effect on the enamel of your teeth – in actual fact, it protects your teeth by speeding up the remineralisation of tooth enamel. Containing 40% less calories than sugar, and super low GI, this is the perfect alternative to sugar that actually tastes great!
What is the difference between erythritol and xylitol?
We aren’t going to say one is superior to the other – they are both naturally occurring sweetness found in a range of plants. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol and has practically no calories, with 70% as much sweet flavour as sugar. Both have positive effects on tooth enamel, but erythritol is arguably even gentler on the body than xylitol overall. We love them both!
